These 6 Party Tops Were Made to Be Exclusively Worn With Jeans

Ah, jeans and a nice top. Where would we be without this classic fashion combination? After a summer of wafty dresses and skirts, we can’t tell you how cathartic it feels to finally slip back into our trusty denim strides, throw on a chic top, and essentially let the rest of our winter attire  fall into place. And with party season just around the corner, we’ve found six key party tops to wear with our jeans ahead of time, enabling us to wear our favourite outfit for festive after dark outings, too. These looks, which have been inspired by some of Instagram’s most sartorially-blessed influencers, will ensure you look the celebratory part while bestowing you with an air of effortless cool. Without further ado, keep scrolling to see six excellent examples of party tops to wear with jeans.

1. SEQUINS

Style Notes: Party season means one thing: sequins. Give an embellished top an edgy overhaul by styling it with classic blue denim, a velvet clutch and undone hair. Take it from our muse, Monikh Dale.

2. ORGANZA

Style Notes: Organza was a keep texture on the autumn/winter 2019 runways. The easiest way to wear it? Undoubtedly in top form with a pair of straight-leg jeans, as evidenced by Jessie Bush. Just add strappy sandals (in a pleasingly matching pastel hue) and your go-to jewels.

3. OFF-THE-SHOULDER

Style Notes: Off-the-shoulder tops aren’t just for the warmer months; worn with denim, they’ll easily see you through nights out during the festive period. Our advice? Save Tiffany Hsu’s shell jewellery for summer, and instead swap in faux pearls and lace-up heels.

4. BUSTIER

Style Notes: We were dubious about the return of the busier. That is, until we saw Lucy Williams wearing one. Look for metallic styles just like hers for an ultra-glamorous ’80s-inspired vibe.

5. LEOPARD

Style Notes: No one has a knack for making outfits look sultry quite like Anne-Laure Mais. Make like the French It girl by wearing a fitted leopard top with fitted jeans, slingback heels and leather outerwear.

6. CAMISOLE

Style Notes: If anyone knows about less-is-more styling, it’s the French—particularly Jeanne Damas. Although undoubtedly glam, we love how she masterfully adds a knitted cardigan into her sultry lace-trimmed camisole and high-waist jeans to give it a laissez-faire feel.
